Research interest: 1) To explore cyanobacteria diversity of thermal environments by using culture-dependent and culture-independent methods. 2) To determine the accurate taxonomic position of those cyanobacterial isolates by using modern polyphasic approach. 3) Screening and selection of industrial cyanobacteria for novel functional genes, microbial metabolites and enzymes. 4) To study the acclimation mechanisms of thermophilic cyanobacteria to extreme environments.
