Thomas V. (Tom) Gourlay is a Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology and Religious Education at the Catholic Institute of Western Australia (CIWA). In 2023 he completed his PhD at the University of Notre Dame Australia with a thesis titled ‘To Broaden the Scope of Reason: The Significance of Relational Ontology for the Catholic University’. Prior to this his studies included degrees in theology, education and liberal arts. Before coming to the CIWA he served as the National Director of Chaplaincy and Faith Formation, and Lecturer in the School of Philosophy and Theology at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and previously still as a teacher and department head of religious education in Western Australian Catholic schools. Tom has published in a number of chapters in scholarly books as well as numerous articles journals such as Irish Theological Quarterly, New Blackfriars, the Heythrop Journal, and Logos: A Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture, among others. Tom is the president and co-founder of the Christopher Dawson Society for Philosophy and Culture (Inc.), an Associated Scholar for the Hildebrand Project, and the secretary for the Guild of Catholic Scholars (Inc.). http://orcid.org/0000-0002-2546-6056
