Gloria M. Calaf is a full professor at Instituto de Alta Investigación, Universidad de Tarapacá in Arica, Chile. She received her MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biological Sciences at Michigan State University, East Lansing Michigan. She joined the University of Chile, followed by the Michigan Cancer Foundation in Detroit, the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, and Columbia University in New York. Her interest is in environmental and hormonal carcinogenesis, developing in vivo and in vitro breast cancer models to understand the initiation and promotion of breast cancer via the effect of pesticides or radiation in the presence of hormones. She has authored 173 publications with total citations of 4652 and an h-index of 34 (Scopus, 22 January 2024).
