Chemical Engineer, State University of Rio de Janeiro (1981), Master in Science and Technology of Polymers, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1988), Ph.D. in Science and Technology of Polymers from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993) with a 2.5-year internship at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung (1988-1990) and Post-Doctorate in Synthesis of Organometallic Complexes at the University of Bayreuth, Germany (1998). Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Institute of Macromolecules, Research Productivity grant from CNPq and Scientist of Our State, FAPERJ. Experience in Polymers, Applications, Materials Engineering, and Polymer Synthesis, working mainly on the following topics: Synthesis of conjugated polymers, development of polymeric photovoltaic solar cells and OLED devices, polymeric nanocomposites (in situ polymerization and melt blending); development of Ziegler-Natta, metallocene, and post-metallocene catalysts; homo and copolymerizations of olefins; multiblock copolymers; composites and nanocomposites with natural fibers; nanofibrillated cellulose; graphene, carbon nanotube, metal oxide nanoparticles, biodegradable nanocomposites.
