Hélder P. Oliveira received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2013. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. He is also a Senior Researcher at the INESC TEC Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (Portugal), and Manager of the visual computing and machine intelligence area, where he conducts research in the fields of image and signal processing and the applications of machine learning in biomedical research.
