Ricard Boqué was born in La Palma d’Ebre (Catalonia, Spain) in 1968. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona in 1991 and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona) in 1997. His thesis received the Extraordinary Doctorate award. In 2002, he took up a position as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry of the URV. Since then, he has taught analytical chemistry and chemometrics to different BSc and MSc students. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and supervised nine doctoral theses. He has also taught more than 50 courses at companies and public administrations. His research interests include qualimetrics and multivariate calibration and classification methods. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry and the Catalan Society of Chemistry, and he is currently the review editor for the Journal of Chemometrics.
