The popularization and use of green buildings are of great significance for reducing the carbon emissions of buildings and achieving sustainable development. Scientific evaluation of the green building design scheme is the key factor in ensuring the popularization and use of green buildings. To overcome the shortage of a systematic evaluation index system and comprehensive evaluation method, an evaluation index system of green building design schemes and an evaluation method based on the projection pursuit model were developed. First, according to the needs of green building development, an evaluation index system of green building design schemes was systematically constructed from the five aspects of the economy, the resource utilization index, environmental impacts, technical management, and social impacts. The calculation methods of all secondary indexes are provided in detail. Then, a novel evaluation method based on the projection pursuit model optimized by the atomic orbital search was constructed. This method searches for key influencing factors and determines the evaluation grade from the evaluation data structure, and realizes the scientific and objective evaluations of green building design schemes. Finally, the Nanchang Hengda Project was selected to conduct a detailed empirical study. The research results show that the incremental net present value of the investment, the energy consumption of the air conditioning system, and the ratio of the window area to the indoor area are the most important secondary indexes. Moreover, the environmental impact index was found to be the most important primary index. Via comparisons with different optimization algorithms and evaluation methods, the superiority of the proposed model is proven.
The thermal conductivity of thermal insulation materials directly affects the building energy consumption. The types and constituents of thermal insulation materials in thermal insulation boards are the key to determining the insulation performance. By optimizing the material constituents and ratios, this paper proposes an improved graphite composite insulation board (GCIB), which has lower thermal conductivity and good fire resistance. Through theoretical derivation, it is found that the limit range of the thermal conductivity of the new GCIB is 0.042–0.064 W/(m · K). Combined with the results of theoretical value analysis, and according to the ratios of material components, the random distribution function of each material component is constructed, and the numerical model of GCIB is established. Through numerical analysis, the range of thermal conductivity of the new composite insulation board is 0.046–0.050 W/(m · K). Finally, we establish an experimental model of the new GCIB. Through the model test of six GCIBs, the thermal conductivity of the new GCIB is obtained as 0.046 W/(m · K), which is in good agreement with the results of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. Through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and a sample test, this paper verifies the better thermal insulation performance of the improved GCIB, providing theoretical and numerical simulation methods for the new GCIB, as well as a theoretical reference for the promotion and application of the GCIB.
The renovation of old residential neighbourhoods represents a critical livelihood initiative. In this study, a theoretical framework utilising fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) is developed to investigate the complex interplay of factors influencing residential satisfaction and to identify multiple pathways for satisfaction enhancement in old residential neighbourhood renovation projects. Thirty old residential neighbourhoods within Nanchang’s urban core are selected as case studies. Through the systematic evaluation and measurement of five critical dimensions—governmental policy; community environment; community support; housing quality; and resident perception—the research applies fsQCA to analyse potential pathways for enhancing residential satisfaction from a “community” perspective. The research finds that residents’ satisfaction can be enhanced through four pathways: housing quality enhancement, quality and support improvement, community environment improvement, and environment–quality linkage. The research findings yield key policy implications: First, a multifactorial synergistic approach should be implemented to overcome reductionist tendencies toward single-factor solutions. Second, differentiated rehabilitation frameworks should be developed to prevent homogenisation in old residential neighbourhood renovation practices. Third, enhancing the accessibility and comprehensibility of government policies through effective communication strategies is crucial, and cultivating a community ethos centred on co-creation, co-governance, and shared benefits should be prioritised to foster collective responsibility and participatory decision-making.
Today, the ecological and environmental risks of increasing energy consumption and carbon emissions (CEs) are becoming increasingly prominent. The “Urban Double Repairs” (UDR) policy aims to enhance urban ecosystems, optimize urban land use, and improve urban land-use carbon emission (LUCE) efficiency. Drawing on panel data of the statistical yearbooks from 2006 to 2021 representing 285 prefecture-level cities in China, this study uses the non-expected output slacks-based measure (NEO-SBM) model and the progressive difference-in-differences (DID) model to explore the effects and intrinsic mechanisms of the UDR policy on urban LUCE efficiency, aiming to provide references for the greening transformation of land-use patterns (LUPs). The research results indicate that the UDR policy significantly promotes urban LUCE efficiency, which was confirmed through a series of robustness tests. The findings of the mechanism analysis indicate that the UDR policy can enhance urban LUCE efficiency by promoting the green upgrading of traditional industries. The positive effects of this policy on LUCE efficiency exhibit a short-term lag period of 2 years. The findings of the heterogeneity analysis reveal that the effects of the UDR policy on urban LUCE efficiency are heterogeneous and depend on the urban location, resource endowment, and scale. Specifically, the effects are more significant in eastern cities, large-scale cities, and non-resource-based (NRB) cities. According to the research findings, each city should implement the UDR policy according to local conditions, develop differentiated low-carbon transformation methods, and actively guide the upgrading of green industrial structures. These measures will significantly facilitate the green and efficient use of urban land resources in China.
