The civil construction sector is under pressure to make construction processes more sustainable, that is, aligned with economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Thus, the research question considers: How do Industry 4.0 Technologies help civil construction face challenges and identify new opportunities to become sustainable? The general objective of this work is to offer a current overview of publications that associate the civil construction sector; Industry 4.0 Technologies and sustainability, and identify the challenges and opportunities of the Industry 4.0 Technologies set to contribute to sustainability achievement. The research method was a bibliographic review combined with bibliometric analysis in SCOPUS databases. The results show that civil construction faces the challenge of reducing the consumption of natural resources, ensuring safe work, and optimizing processes, especially handwork. However, the insertion of Industry 4.0 Technologies into civil construction has allowed sensors, robots, modelling and simulation systems, artificial intelligence, and drones to have their productivity, efficiency, safety, strategic and environmental management enhanced. Furthermore, Industry 4.0 Technologies can contribute to civil construction through innovative, sustainable, and technological solutions focused on the flow of work, which can provide growth through the balance of costs/benefits in the management of projects and works. Thus, it is expected that this article will contribute to discussions around the possibility of construction becoming sustainable with the support of Industry 4.0 Technologies.

This paper examines the role of dynamic capabilities as resources for achieving environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and corporate social responsibility within the pillars of the Sustainable Development Goals. Economic growth and technological progress, while driving societal advancements, have also contributed to challenges such as inefficient resource utilization, social inequality, climate change, and unsustainable production. Through an integrative review, the paper identifies sixteen dynamic capabilities incorporated into a business framework. These capabilities aim to support environmental and economic sustainability, along with corporate social responsibility in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. The paper emphasizes opportunities for companies and academia to adopt sustainable practices. This contribution aims to advance the broader objective of sustainable development by promoting a balance between societal progress and responsible resource management.

With the outbreak of social withdrawal due to the pandemic, many countries have undergone drastic transformations in various spheres. In education, face-to-face classes were transformed into distance learning. However, this sudden change caused several problems for students and teachers. Given these events, the purpose of this article was to propose exceptional actions to improve the transition from face-to-face classes to virtual classes. For this, the elements that positively and negatively impacted education in the Covid-19 pandemic were identified in the literature. These elements were then clustered into four strategies, these being: redesign of pedagogical practices, psychological and social support, technological infrastructure in virtual teaching, and school management to cope with the pandemic scenario. The multiple case study method was used, investigating five technical schools located in the state of São Paulo (Brazil). With this, it was possible to propose 10 exceptional actions aimed at the transition from face-to-face classes to virtual classes. The main novelty of this article was the proposition of actions to motivate the school community against the impacts of the pandemic, building memory in its agents, making them more prepared for unexpected events.

The worldwide crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic forced companies providing non-essential services to adapt to the WHO's recommended social isolation measures. Consequently, there was a need to develop the ability to reorganize work away from traditional company locations, leading to the widespread adoption of practices such as freelancing, remote work, "single office," or "home office." This article investigates the impact of this evolving trend on the quality of life for employees in comparison to the conventional work model. To gather data, the research employed survey-type questionnaires constructed with statements grounded in relevant literature. Managers overseeing remote teams from various sectors were objectively queried about their agreement levels regarding themes related to the effects of home office on employee quality of life during the pandemic. The findings were then discussed using a SWOT analysis, focusing on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with this new work context. The article concludes by outlining a post-pandemic scenario for companies and employees, particularly in the continued adoption of home office practices.

The rapid and unplanned urbanization has been causing significant negative impacts on both the environment and society. This study seeks to identify the leading journals, influential authors, and trends in publications related to green roofs, which are crucial for sustainable urban development. Using bibliometric analysis, the study examined data from the Scopus database, uncovering 300 relevant articles. The findings reveal a noticeable increase in publications over the years, particularly in prominent sustainability-focused journals such as Sustainability and Ecological Engineering. The research highlights that authors with the most publications come from various academic disciplines, underscoring a multidisciplinary approach to sustainable development. Green roofs, in this context, are essential in alleviating the adverse effects of urban population growth. The study demonstrates that the growing interest in green roofs reflects a broader commitment to addressing the challenges of urbanization through sustainable practices, making it a critical area of research for the future of urban planning and environmental management.
