Dr. Tushar Kanti Das, born in 1990 in India, is currently an assistant
professor at the Institute of Physics—Centre for Science and Education,
Silesian University of Technology, Katowice, Poland. He earned his B.Sc.
in chemistry (hons.) from Narasinha Dutt College, University of
Calcutta in 2011, followed by a B.Tech. in polymer science and
technology from the same university in 2014. He received his M.Tech.
from the Rubber Technology Centre, IIT Kharagpur in 2016. During his
M.Tech., Dr. Das was awarded a DAAD fellowship and conducted research at
the Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e.V., Germany, under
Prof. Dr. Manfred Stamm. His project focused on “Nanostructured Graphene
Membranes for Catalytic and Environmental Remediation.” He later
completed his PhD at IIT Kharagpur under Prof. Narayan Chandra Das, with
a thesis titled “Fabrication of Heterogeneous Polymer Nanocomposites
for Catalytic Applications.” Dr. Das’s research interests include
polymer-stabilized catalytic nanoparticles, heterogeneous catalysis,
catalytic membranes, polymer nanocomposites, rubber compounding,
conductive rubber composites, and nanomaterials derived from Group 15,
16, and 17 elements.
