Jing Sun is a distinguished professor and chair of biostatistics at the Rural Health Research Institute, Charles Sturt University, Australia. She is also an elected distinguished fellow of
International Engineering and Technology Institute, accredited statistician of
Statistical Society of Australia, and president of Board of Supervisors of International Engineering and Technology Institute. Before these positions, she was professor in the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Griffith University, Australia, a visiting fellow of the University of Washington, US, and research fellow of the
Capital Institute of Pediatrics, Beijing, China. Professor Sun obtained her PhD from Queensland University of Technology in 2004 and was Postdoctoral Fellow at Queensland University of Technology in 2003–2006. She is an internationally recognised leaders in maternal health and pediatrics research across nations. She leads large-scale Chronic Diseases/Mental Illness randomised controlled trials and cohort studies focusing on the prognosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental disorders in the era of effective lifestyle based rehabilitation in conjunction with clinical-cognitive-behavioural therapy approach.
