Ashraf Al Madhoun is a researcher at the Department of Genetics and Bioinformatics and the Department of Animal and Imaging Core Facilities, Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait. His long-term research interests involve understanding key biochemical pathways that mediate the differentiation of stem cells. His academic training and research experience have provided him with an excellent background in multiple biological disciplines, including biochemistry, genetics, and molecular and cellular biology. In May 2012, he joined DDI-Kuwait as a scientist and team leader in the field of stem cell biology. He has excellent experience in the fields of molecular biology, transcription regulation, and enzyme kinetics, with hands-on experience using basic and advanced molecular techniques, including protein purification, chromatin immunoprecipitation assays, and radioactive molecule handling.
