Prof. Dr. Stefano Bellucci
obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in physics from the Sapienza University of Rome
(summa cum laude) in 1982, and his Ph.D. in the physics of elementary particles
at SISSA, Trieste, in 1986. He was a research associate at Brandeis University,
Waltham, MA, USA (1983–1985), as well as a visiting researcher at M.I.T.,
Cambridge, MA, USA (1985–1986); the University of Maryland, USA (1986–1987);
and the University of California, Davis, USA (1987–1988). He became a tenured
researcher (research staff) at the INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare)
Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF) in 1987, and he has been an INFN first
researcher (senior research staff) since 2005. He coordinated all the LNF
theoretical physics activities between 1999 and 2002 and between 2011 and 2015.
His research interests include theoretical physics, condensed matter,
biophysics, physical chemistry, nanoscience and nanotechnology, nanocarbon-based composites, and biomedical applications. He is Series Editor of Springer
Lecture Notes in Nanoscale Science and Technology, and biannual (2012–2014)
Associate Editor of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Letters. He is an Editorial
Board Member of the Journal of Nanomaterials and many other scientific
journals. He is Director of the NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division, SPS
Programme project “Development of Biosensors using Carbon Nanotubes”.
