I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He doctorated in 1993, hold pos-doctoral positions at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati/INFN, in Italy, before getting a permanent position in the university in 1999. Has performed experimental, phenomenological and theoretical research on Nuclear Physics, High Energy Physics, Statistical Physics and Quantum Field Theory. He formulated the concept of Thermofractal to explain the origin of nonextensive statistics in high-energy collisions, and worked to prove that the Yang-Mills Field theory has the necessary properties to allow for the formation of thermofractals. This result allows one to calculate the entropic index, q, from first principles.
