The topic of this discussion can be the identification of mixed carbonate siliciclastic systems on the Eastern Tyrrhenian margin, particularly referring to the Gulf of Naples, and the relative importance of siliciclastic and carbonate sedimentation in the sedimentary balance of these areas. In this framework the updated reporting on the rhodolith deposits in the offshore of Ischia, carried out by the first authors, gives more notice on the bioclastic sedimentation in the Campania offshore, taking into account the classical model of bioclastic sedimentation of Peres and Picard (1964)
