Dr. Paterne A. Agre is a Molecular Breeder Scientist based at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA, Ibadan Nigeria). He focuses on the application of bioinformatic and molecular tools to support yam breeding. Dr. Agre has expertise in plant breeding, data analysis and database management, genomic prediction and selection, QTL linkage and traits association mapping. Dr. Agre enjoys writing manuscripts and he has co-authored more than 80 articles including book chapters. He is currently a board member of BMC Plant Biology and guess editor in Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems.
