Prof. Dr. Orlando Guntinas-Lichius studied medicine in Cologne, Germany. He received his M.D. in the University of Cologne in 1994. He completed his specialist training in otorhinolaryngology at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, University of Cologne in 1998 and worked in the department until 2006. During this time, he finalized his "habilitatin" (2004). Since 2006 he has been a full professor for Otorhinolaryngology and head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Jena University Hospital, Jena, Germany. His main research interests are head and neck cancer, biophotonics, salivary gland tumors, and facial nerve reconstruction.
