Cyril Ronco received his PhD in 2010 on the topic of development of cholinesterases ligands for multiple chemical biology purposes, under the supervision of Prof. P.-Y. Renard at University of Rouen, Normandy. He was then awarded a Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship to work on the total synthesis of complex natural products in Prof. H.-D. Arndt's group at Jena University, Germany. After working on medicinal chemistry projects in Prof. Déprez’s group at Lille University, France, he was recruited in 2014 by Nice University as an Assistant and then as an Associate Professor in the team “Bioactive Molecules” headed by Dr. Benhida. His research focuses on the discovery of small bioactive molecules and the development of biochemical tools to understand and circumvent resistance mechanisms in oncology and inflammation- related diseases. In 2018, he was awarded with the Young Medicinal Chemist Award from the French Société de Chimie Thérapeutique. Currently, part of his research is devoted to the development of new treatments for eye diseases.
