Georg Conrads is a micro- and molecular biologist and a specialist in oral (dental) and anaerobic microbiology. His areas of interest include periodontal, endodontic, periapical, peri-implantitis-associated, and caries-associated dysbiosis and corresponding odontogenic infections. He also developed diagnostic tests for mixed anaerobic infections and new treatment strategies (laser application, new antimicrobials, and antimicrobial nanogels). He is an affiliated professor at the Department of Operative Dentistry, Periodontology and Preventive Dentistry and (since 2002) head of the Division of Oral Microbiology and Immunology, RWTH University Hospital, Aachen, Germany.
