Information

Prof. Klas Engvall received his Ph.D. degree (Catalysis and Surface Science) at the University of Gothenburg in 1995. Prof. Klas Engvall has more than 25 years of experience in R&D, as a researcher and head of research, within the field of catalysis and thermochemical conversion, both from academia and the industry. Prof. Engvall is head of the division Process Technology and also the thermochemical research group, with research focusing on many aspects of improving thermochemical conversion of biomass and wastes, gas cleaning, and upgrading of gases in industrial processes, including catalytic conversion and removal of hydrocarbons and VOC, particulate removal and removal of sulfur and nitrogen compounds in gas streams for syngas applications or residual gas streams from the industry. Prof. Klas Engvall is currently responsible for coordinating the R&D in one of the research nodes (3 partner universities and 12 industrial partners) in the Swedish Gasification Centre.
