Dr. Biljana Đ. Glišić was born on September 19, 1985 in Kragujevac (Serbia). She finished PhD studies in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Miloš I. Djuran, at the Faculty of Science, University of Kragujevac. She has been postdoctoral research scientist in Anorganisch-Chemisches Institut, Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Germany, Faculty of Chemistry, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland and Department of Chemistry, University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Since September 13, 2017 Dr. Glišić is Assistant Professor in Inorganic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry (University of Kragujevac, Serbia). Dr. Glišić has been a supervisor of 5 PhD and 11 MSc students at the Faculty of Science at University of Kragujevac. She has participated in 4 national and 2 international projects. Main research interests of Dr. Glišić are in the field of Medicinal Inorganic Chemistry. Her research have been focused on the synthesis of various transition metal complexes, their characterization by different spectroscopic, crystallographic and electrochemical methods, as well as evaluation of antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of the synthesized metal complexes for their potential use in medicine. She has also interested in investigation of interactions of metal complexes with biologically important molecules, such as peptides, proteins and nucleic acids. For extraordinary success in science, she was awarded from the Serbian Chemical Society in 2017.
