Yoshimasa Tanaka received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Hokkaido University, Japan in 1992. From 1990 to 1995, he served as a Research Associate at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NY, USA. In 1998, he joined Kyoto University, subsequently moving to Nagasaki University in 2012, where he was promoted to Distinguished Professor and Director of the Center for Medical Innovation in 2019. His research primarily focuses on cancer immunotherapy, γδ T cells, NK cells, PD-1, and PD-L1.
