Luca Cocchi is a marine geophysicist specialized in acquiring, processing and interpreting ship-borne and ground magnetic and gravity data. Cocchi has 15 years of experience in geophysical modelling (inverse and forward approaches), in addition to interpretation of oil and gas reservoirs (recovery and production sites), offshore geothermal/hydrothermal sites combining potential field data and seismic images, along with a solid background in structural geology and petrology/geochemistry, as well as decennial experience in offshore geophysical surveys, sea trials and also use of different geophysical instruments (gravity, magnetics, multibeam, side scan sonar and acoustic tools) for marine investigation at different scales (shallow water, deep sea and abysses), using AUV (autonomous undersea vehicle) and ROV (remote-operated vehicle). Cocchi has authored 40 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 60 abstracts and conference proceedings.
