Dr. Patrick U. Okoye received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria, in 2009 and his Master’s degree in Applied Process Control Electronic Systems Design Engineering from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 2012. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, in 2017. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Shenyang University of Technology, China, from 2017 to 2019. He is currently a Research Associate at the Institute of Renewable Energies, National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is interested in research and technology that will result in a sustainable solution to current energy and environmental pollution challenges. His main research focus is the valorization of waste to produce porous materials that can be applied in heterogeneous catalysis, biofuels, energy storage, hydrogen storage, fine chemical synthesis, and liquid phase adsorption processes.
