Biography

Dr. Krzysztof Strzelec works at the Institute of Polymer and Dye Technology. In the years 2013-2019, he was the Deputy Director for Science, and since 2019, he has been the director of the Institute. He graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Chemistry. In 1999, he defended his doctoral thesis with distinction, and in 2009, he obtained the degree of habilitated doctor. In the years 2000-2002, he completed a research internship at Tokyo University of A&T, where he researched the synthesis of conducting polymers for electronics and optoelectronics, as well as the synthesis of new HPLC stationary phases. Research interests of Prof. Strzelca's research interests include the synthesis and modification of polymeric materials with a wide range of applications, such as functional polymers and resins, homogeneous catalyst carriers, coating and adhesive materials, electroconductive polymers and composites, elastomeric composites and biocomposites, porous polymeric materials, and materials with self-healing properties. He has managed numerous research projects (KBN, NCN). He cooperates with scientific and industrial centers in the USA and Lithuania. He coordinated work carried out in three international projects financed by Covestro North America/Bayer and the United States Department of Energy.
