Dr. Shareeful Islam is an associate professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). He was previously a visiting professor at the National Institute of Informatics (NII), Japan, and a visiting researcher at SBA Research, Austria. He has over 22 years of experience in teaching, administration, and research. He has published more than 90 papers and secured ca. GBP 1.5 million in funding, mostly from national and EU funding agencies, and has experience with leading and managing projects. He has successfully supervised the timely completion of 11 PhDs and MPhils and is currently leading the Horizon project for ARU. His research interests include risk management, responsible AI, cyber security, AI-enabled cyber security, and regulatory compliance.
