Dr. Fernando Jesús Plaza del Pino is a nurse with 30 years of clinical experience and a Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Almería, Spain. He teaches in the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and the Official Master’s Degree in Migration, Mediation and Vulnerable Groups. His areas of expertise include intercultural communication and education, culturally diverse healthcare, and care for vulnerable populations. He is the author of the books Cuidando a pacientes musulmanes. Las fronteras de la enfermería en la comunicación intercultural (2010) and Comunicación, cuidado y vida en la diversidad. Una propuesta de Formación Intercultural (2017), as well as numerous scientific articles on intercultural healthcare for migrant and Roma populations. He is also co-director of Espacio Sin Fronteras, a radio podcast devoted to interculturality and migration.
