Bachelor of Physics (1996), Master of Physics (1998), Doctor of Physics (2003), and Postdoctorate (2003), all from the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo (IF-USP). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) based at the Center for Natural and Human Sciences (CCNH), Coordinator of the Nanotechnological Laboratory Complex (CLN) linked to the National System of Laboratories in Nanotechnologies (SisNano), Coordinator of the Multi-User Laboratories at UFABC, and Vice-Coordinator of the Nucleus of Nanomedicine (NANOMED). He was the Physicist responsible for the Polycrystalline X-Ray Diffraction Line (D10B-XPD) of the National Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) from 2003 to 2009. He has experience in the area of Physics with an emphasis on Structure of Liquids and Solids, Crystallography, and Optical and Spectroscopic Properties of Condensed Matter, acting mainly on the following themes: structural characterization of materials using polycrystalline X-ray diffraction and the Rietveld method (pharmaceutical inputs, magnetic nanoparticles, materials with negative thermal expansion, solid state fuel cells, intercalation materials, among others) and structural determination, synthesis, and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles with potential application in biomedicine.
