Francesco Faggioli works as an executive researcher in Plant Pathology at the Virology Dept. of CREA-DC (Research Centre of Plant Protection and Certification) in Rome, Italy. He is a plant pathologist, who is responsible for the diagnostic laboratory DIALAB, accredited for ISO 17025, and in charge of the quality assurance system. He is also responsible for the European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL) of Virology, and he is a consultant of the Italian NPPO about plant health aspects and control of quarantined diseases, a member of the EPPO panel for diagnostics in virology and a trainer for official staff on the diagnostics, monitoring, and eradication of quarantine and RNQ pests.
