Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komgrit Eawsakul (FHEA) is an Associate Professor in Applied Thai Traditional Medicine at the School of Medicine, Walailak University. His interdisciplinary work bridges ancient herbal wisdom with cutting-edge medical technologies. Core Research Focus • Phytomedicine & Natural Products: Exploring the therapeutic properties of bioactive compounds isolated from traditional herbs. This includes evaluating plant extracts like bael fruit (Aegle marmelos) for managing complex chronic conditions. • Computational Studies & Pharmacology: Utilizing in silico molecular docking, liver metabolism simulations, and network pharmacology. This work uncovers how natural molecules target disease pathways, specifically looking at enzyme inhibition (such as alpha-glucosidase for Type 2 diabetes, or BACE1 and AChE for Alzheimer's disease). • Advanced Drug Delivery Systems: Investigating nanoencapsulation technologies and biopolymer matrices to preserve volatile components, stabilize natural extracts, and achieve controlled therapeutic release. • Regenerative Medicine: Exploring the potential of stem cells, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and exosomes to unlock new pathways in tissue repair and medical device biocompatibility. Academic Interests • Integrating Biomedical Engineering principles with Applied Thai Traditional Medicine. • Developing evidence-based natural health products and validation frameworks for folk remedies. • Advancing metabolic health strategies
