Mikael Björnstedt has been a Professor/Senior Physician at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Division of Pathology F46, Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Sweden since 2010. He obtained a University Medical Degree from Karolinska Institutet in 1993. He was Docent at the Karolinska Institutet in 2001. His research interests are clinical and mechanistic studies of redox-active selenium compounds in cancer, primary cells, human ex vivo models, and clinical trials applied with a special focus on liver cancer and pancreatic cancer.
