Daniela Marasco is a professor at the University of Naples Federico II. She graduated in Chemistry in 1998 from the University of Naples Federico II, specializing in Bioinorganic Chemistry. In 2002, she earned her Doctorate in Chemical Sciences. From 2002 to 2009, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Biostructures and Bioimaging (IBB) of the Italian Research National Council. Since 2009, she has been a Researcher of General Chemistry and teaches “General Chemistry” and “Techniques of Structural Biology” at the University of Naples “Federico II”. Dr. Marasco’s research focuses on the relationship between the structure and activities of biological macromolecules. Her primary research interests include the chemical synthesis of proteins, peptides, and peptidomimetics, both individually and as libraries. She also identifies peptide-based molecules as modulators of protein-protein interactions. These research topics are carried out by combining chemical synthetic routes, mass-spectrometry, spectroscopic techniques (circular dichroism, fluorescence), and biochemical binding assays such as ELISA, SPR, ITC, and FRET. Dr. Marasco has co-authored over 100 publications in international journals, including Nature Communication, Oncotarget, JACS, PNAS, NAR, and Stem Cells. She has also authored book chapters and holds four patents.
