Dr. Abhijit Chakraborty is a Senior Clinical Research Scientist at the Department of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics, MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Cancer Genetics at the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, India, and has been awarded the Young Scientist Award, multiple academic scholarships, and international travel grants. He recently led translational research projects involving early-phase clinical trials in hematologic malignancies and the development of a first-in-human Prime Editing gene therapy. He has published over 50 papers in various journals and serves as a peer reviewer for several oncology journals, as well as a contributor to multi-institutional research collaborations. His teaching disciplines include molecular diagnostics, clinical trial design, and biomarker development, and his interests include precision medicine, immuno-oncology, and hematologic cancer therapies.
