Giulia Infurna is a chemical engineer with a Ph.D. in Chemical, Environmental, Biomedical, Hydraulic, and Materials Engineering from the University of Palermo. Her research focuses on the development of sustainable materials and circular economy strategies, with particular attention to the recycling of polyolefins and post-use personal protective equipment, investigating their degradation, reprocessing, and the design of sustainable manufacturing solutions. She also works on the production of biocomposites derived from agricultural waste, studying their recyclability and degradation processes. Another area of her research involves the optimization of both polyolefin-based and bio-based composites for flame retardant applications. Giulia explores innovative waste valorization routes and is actively involved in the study of bitumen degradation and stabilization through the use of biochar obtained from waste. Her work integrates material science, environmental sustainability, and resource recovery.
