Luisa Barreiros graduated in Microbiology from the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) in 2000. In 2009, she finished her PhD in Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, U.Porto (FEUP). From 2009 to 2011, she was an Invited Assistant at FEUP, and since 2011, she has been an Invited Teacher (first Assistant, then Adjunct) at the School of Health (ESS), Polytechnic of Porto. Also in 2011, LB joined REQUIMTE, Faculty of Pharmacy, U.Porto (FFUP) as a post-doc researcher, having secured a FCT grant between 2013 and 2018. From 11/2018 to 10/2024, LB has been a contracted researcher at REQUIMTE-FFUP. As a researcher, LB has been working in Analytical Chemistry and related areas, namely in the development of analytical and bioanalytical techniques for application to complex matrices (biological, environmental, food). During the last years, she has developed a strong expertise in targeted MS analysis and in sample preparation strategies using miniaturized and automated flow-based systems. More recently, she started to work in the untargeted analysis of biological matrices.
