Bruna Scaggiante graduated with honours in biology in 1984 and obtained her doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Trieste in 1992. She is a researcher and professor at the Department of Biosciences of the University of Trieste in the field of Molecular Biology. She was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2020 in recognition of her professional activity in the field of oncological research and for her social commitment in the fight against tumours with ongoing training and health education for citizens and in favour of support actions to improve the quality of life of cancer patients. Her research interests are mainly focused on biological fluids, cancer and cancer biomarkers.
