Metro systems play a key role in meeting urban transport demands in large cities. The close relationship between historical weather conditions and the corresponding passenger flow has been widely analyzed by researchers. However, few studies have explored the issue of how to use historical weather data to make passenger flow forecasting more accurate. To this end, an hourly metro passenger flow forecasting model using a deep long short-term memory neural network (LSTM_NN) was developed. The optimized traditional input variables, including the different temporal data and historical passenger flow data, were combined with weather variables for data modeling. A comprehensive analysis of the weather impacts on short-term metro passenger flow forecasting is discussed in this paper. The experimental results confirm that weather variables have a significant effect on passenger flow forecasting. It is interesting to find out that the previous variables of one-hour temperature and wind speed are the two most important weather variables to obtain more accurate forecasting results on rainy days at Taipei Main Station, which is a primary interchange station in Taipei. Compared to the four widely used algorithms, the deep LSTM_NN is an extremely powerful method, which has the capability of making more accurate forecasts when suitable weather variables are included.
The accuracy of many computer vision tasks is reduced by blurred images, so deblur is important. More details of the image can be captured by a common multi-stage network, but the computational complexity of this method is higher compared with a single-stage network. However, a single-stage network cannot capture multi-scale information well. To tackle the problem, a novel convolutional encoder–decoder–restorer architecture is proposed. In this architecture, a multi-scale input structure is used in the encoder. Improved supervised attention module is inserted into the encoder for enhanced feature acquisition. In decoder, information supplement block is proposed to fuse multi-scale features. Finally, the fused features are used for image recovery in the restorer. In order to optimise the model in multiple domains, the loss function is calculated separately in the spatial and frequency domains. Our method is compared with existing methods on the GOPRO dataset. In addition, to verify the applications of our proposed method, we conduct experiments on the Real image dataset, the VOC2007 dataset and the LFW dataset. Experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art deblurring methods and improves the accuracy of different vision tasks.

Accurately predicting traffic flow is crucial for intelligent transportation systems (ITS). In recent years, many deep learning‐based prediction models have been widely applied in traffic flow prediction, and various spatio‐temporal networks have been proposed. However, most of the existing models follow a general technical route to extract the spatio‐temporal features, which lack the capacity of extracting the important historical information with the high spatial and temporal correlations dynamically and deeply. How to develop a well‐performance traffic flow prediction model for a complex transportation network is still facing some challenges. In this paper, a hybrid dynamic spatio‐temporal network (HD‐Net) for traffic flow prediction is proposed. In HD‐Net, the authors first extract the dynamic spatio‐temporal features using dynamic graph convolution and bidirectional gate recurrent uni (BiGRU). Subsequently, the authors extract the important features with high spatial and temporal correlations from the obtained dynamic spatio‐temporal features using an auto‐correlation mechanism from a local perspective, and self‐attention mechanism from a global perspective, respectively. Extensive experiments have been conducted on two real‐world traffic datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed HD‐Net outperforms the baselines in the field of capturing the dynamic and important spatio‐temporal features with high correlations.
