Mei Yu received her Doctor of Agriculture degree in animal genetics from Iowa State University in 2006. She is working as a professor at Huazhong Agricultural University (1995–). Her research topics mainly include identification of genes, molecular mechanisms, functional genomics, statistical bioinformatics, reproductive traits, and livestock.
