Danilo Milardi received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Catania in 1996. In 2001 he was appointed Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). His research activity mainly focuses on describing how inter- and intra-molecular interactions lead to the emergence of specific protein/lipid/ligand properties and biological functions. His major objective is to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms regulating protein (mis)folding and amyloid assembly, protein-membrane interactions and protein clearance by proteases with the ultimate goal of understanding how microscopic events may lead to eventually pathogenic consequences.
