José M.S.S. Esperança is a Principal Investigator at the LAQV-REQUIMTE, Chemistry Department of Faculdade de Ciências Tecnológicas, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Lisboa, Portugal. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from FCT NOVA in 2004, and has an MBA in 2005. He was an Assistant Researcher at ITQB from 2008 to 2013 and a Principal Researcher from 2013 to 2016. He is a Member of the Executive Commission of LAQV/REQUIMTE @ Caparica (since 2018) and a Member of the Chemistry Department Council (since 2022). His research interests include Ionic Liquids, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, Liquid-Liquid Equilibria, gas hydrates, Adsorption, and CO2.
