Elena Catelli holds a DVM from the University of Bologna and a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool (UK) on “Molecular and clinical investigations of avian Metapneumovirus induced-disease following live vaccination”, and she is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna, where she is the head of the Service of Avian Pathology. She is also a member of the Italian Branch  (SIPA) of the World Veterinary Poultry Association. Her fields of research are all the diseases of poultry, with particular interest in viral respiratory and immusoppressive diseases.
