Maja Lazarus has been working at the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, Zagreb, Croatia, since 2003. She completed postgraduate studies in Biology–Toxicology and earned her PhD from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Natural Sciences in 2009. Her research interests include the toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics of toxic elements and their interaction with essential elements; ecotoxicology, including the biomonitoring of exposure and effects of pollutants in terrestrial wildlife; and the risk assessment of foodstuff contaminants for human health.
