Ekaterina A. Tyupina is an associate professor at Department of High Energy Chemistry and Radioecology of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology (MUCTR), Russia. She graduated with honours from Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology in 1995 with specialization in chemical technology of modern energy materials. She works at Institute of Materials for Modern Energy and Nanotechnology of MUCTR since 1998, where she got her Ph.D. in Engineering Science in 2003. Her main research interests are in studying decontamination processes of liquid (both aqueous and organic) and gaseous media from various radionuclides, obtaining and investigating novel sorbents, developing matrices and immobilization techniques for complex blend radioactive waste (RW), investigation of buffer properties of barrier systems containing clayey materials for RW disposal in subsurface and deep geological repositories.
