I have been serving as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western Michigan University, where I continue my research activities in intelligent, resilient, and data-driven power and energy systems. I am also an Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey, with more than 20 years of experience across academia, R&D, and international collaboration. My work centers on renewable energy systems, energy management systems (EnMS), hybrid and multi-source power systems, PEM fuel cells, AI-driven microgrid control, and cyber-physical systems. From 2012 to 2013, I worked as a researcher at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC IET) in Ispra, Italy. In the Energy Efficiency Unit, I conducted research on energy service companies (ESCOs) and energy performance contracting (EPC), contributing to the development of EU sustainable energy and energy efficiency policies. Beyond my academic roles, I actively participate in global research initiatives such as EU COST Actions and UNIDO/UNDP projects. I also serve on the Editorial Board of IEEE Data Descriptions and am a Senior Member of IEEE. I am passionate about advancing energy innovation and smart grid technologies, and I am committed to empowering the next generation of engineers through open science, impactful research, and international collaboration.
