Graduated in Chemistry from the State University of Londrina in 1986 and PhD in Chemistry from University of Campinas (Brazil) in 1993. He did postdoctoral studies at Lund University (Sweden) in 1997/98. He was lecturer at São Paulo State University from 1989 to 1994. He joined to University of Campinas in 1994 as Assistant Professor, where became Associate Professor in 2000 and Full Professor in 2009. He is a member of the São Paulo State Academy of Science (ACIESP), the Brazilian Academy of Science (ABC) and Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. He works in Chemistry with emphasis on Electroanalytical Chemistry for the development of sensors and biosensors employing novel materials.
