Prof. Emily Sarver is a Stonie Barker Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Mining and Minerals Engineering—an adjunct faculty to the Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech.
She is an active member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration and the Society of Mining Professors. She completed her BS and MSc studies in mining engineering at Virginia Tech in 2004 and 2005, respectively, and she earned her PhD degree in civil engineering at Virginia Tech in 2010. Her primary research interests are in the monitoring, characterization and abatement of respirable mine dust and diesel particulates.
