Fifth generation (5G) networks are the base communication technology for connecting objects in the internet of things (IoT) environment. 5G is being developed to provide extremely large capacity, robust integrity, high bandwidth, and low latency. With the development and innovating new techniques for 5G-IoT, it surely will drive to new enormous security and privacy challenges. Consequently, secure techniques for data transmissions will be needed as the basis for 5G-IoT technology to address these arising challenges. Therefore, various traditional security mechanisms are provided for 5G-IoT technologies and most of them are based on mathematical models. With the growth and development of quantum technologies, traditional cryptographic techniques may be compromised due to their mathematical computation based construction. Quantum walks (QWs) is a universal model of quantum computation, which possesses inherent cryptographic features that can be utilized to build efficient cryptographic mechanisms. In this paper, we utilize the features of quantum walks to construct a new S-box method which plays a significant role in block cipher techniques for 5G-IoT technologies. As an application of the presented S-box mechanism and controlled alternate quantum walks (CAQWs) for 5G-IoT technologies a new robust video encryption mechanism is proposed. As well as to fulfill needs of encryption for varied files in 5G-IoT, we utilize the features of quantum walks to design a novel encryption technique for secure transmission of sensitive files in 5G-IoT paradigm. The analyses and results of the proposed cryptosystems show that it has better security properties and efficacy in terms of cryptographic performance.

Security of medical media is important for patient safety and confidentiality. This paper proposes a framework for the chaos-based quantum encryption of healthcare images. In the framework, healthcare staff in one location send cipher images to the cloud. The healthcare staff in another location receive the images from the cloud. By decrypting the content of the images, the healthcare staff can assist users in a secure manner. This paper also proposes a novel approach for the efficient quantum image encryption of healthcare media. The proposed algorithm utilizes gray code and a chaotic map. The quantum image is scrambled by quantum gray code. Then, the scrambled quantum image is encrypted using a quantum XOR operation based on a key generator controlled by the logistic-sine map. The circuits of the proposed encryption/decryption algorithm are devised based on NEQR quantum image representation. Numerical and simulation analyses show that the proposed quantum image encryption approach is robust, realizable, and has high efficiency compared to its classical counterpart.

A new 3-D chaotic dynamical system with a peanut-shaped closed curve of equilibrium points is introduced in this work. Since the new chaotic system has infinite number of rest points, the new chaotic model exhibits hidden attractors. A detailed dynamic analysis of the new chaotic model using bifurcation diagrams and entropy analysis is described. The new nonlinear plant shows multi-stability and coexisting convergent attractors. A circuit model using MultiSim of the new 3-D chaotic model is designed for engineering applications. The new multi-stable chaotic system is simulated on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) by applying two numerical methods, showing results in good agreement with numerical simulations. Consequently, we utilize the properties of our chaotic system in designing a new cipher colour image mechanism. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the presented encryption mechanism, whose outcomes suggest promising applications for our chaotic system in various cryptographic applications.

Designing efficient and secure cryptosystems has been a preoccupation for many scientists and engineers for a long time wherein they use chaotic systems to design new cryptosystems. While one dimensional (1-D) chaotic maps possess powerful properties compared to higher dimension ones, they are vulnerable to various attacks due to their small key space, chaotic discontinuous ranges, and degradation in chaotic dynamical behaviours. Moreover, when simulated on a computer, every such chaotic system produces a periodic cycle. Meanwhile, quantum random walks exhibit the potential for deployment in efficient cryptosystem design, which makes it an excellent solution for this problem. In this context, we present a new method for constructing substitution boxes (S-boxes) based on cascaded quantum-inspired quantum walks and chaos inducement. The performance of the proposed S-box scheme is investigated via established S-box evaluation criterion and outcomes suggest that the constructed S-box has significant qualities for viable applications information security. Further, we present an efficient scheme for pseudo-random numbers generation (PRNG) whose sustainability over long periods remedies the periodicity problem associated with traditional cryptographic applications. Furthermore, by combining the two mechanisms, an atypical image encryption scheme is introduced. Simulation results and analysis validate that the proposed image encryption algorithm will offer gains in many cryptographic applications.
