Prof. Dr. Alexander Calero Hurtado is an Associate Professor at the University of Sancti Spíritus “José Martí Pérez”. He obtained a doctorate in Agronomy (Plant Production) from the São Paulo State University in 2020. He was an Agricultural Engineer (2000–2005) at the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas, Cuba. He has international experience from his research period at the Insti-tute for Sustainable Horticulture, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Surrey, Canada (2012). He also has extensive experience in re-search in the areas of organic waste in agriculture, production, and application of biofertilizers and biostimulants, crop manage-ment, use of microorganisms to mitigate root and foliar diseases in plants, saline and abiotic stress, nutrition, agroecology, and or-ganic agriculture.
