Ilya Khodov received his Specialist Degree in Physics from Ivanovo State University in 2010, his PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences from Ivanovo State University of Chemistry and Technology in 2014, and his Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences degree from Kazan Federal University in 2022. From 2010 to 2024, he worked at the Institute of Solution Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, progressing from Research Trainee to Head of Laboratory. He also worked as a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences and Leipzig University, Germany. Since 2025, he has been a Leading Research Scientist at the N. N. Semenov Federal Research Center for Chemical Physics, RAS, while continuing to serve as Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Solution Chemistry. He is a member of the Section of Physical Chemistry of Nano- and Supramolecular Systems of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Physical Chemistry. His research topics mainly include: coordination chemistry of rare-earth and transition metals; NMR spectroscopy and machine-learning-based prediction of NMR chemical shifts; and physicochemical investigation of porous inorganic materials and silica-aerogel-based composites. He is a member of the D. I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Society, an expert of the Russian Science Foundation and the Federal Register of Experts, and Chair of the “Physical Methods in Materials Chemistry” scientific seminar.
