In 2013, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Chouaib Doukkali in El Jadida. Afterwards, he obtained a master’s diploma in plant sciences in 2015 from École Normale Supérieure, University of Mohammed V, Rabat. This has equipped him with extensive expertise and knowledge in many fields, such as plant physiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, and statistics. Presently, he is pursuing his PhD research to explore the physiological, genetic, and molecular characterization of heat and drought stress tolerance in lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) at ICARDA. During his research tenure, he has gained versatile experience in plant breeding and genetics, along with rigorous skills in statistical analysis. These skills enable him to identify promising lentil genotypes well adapted to high temperatures and drought stress using FIGS (Focused Identification of Germplasm Strategy).
