Francisco José Ares-Pena is currently Full Professor in the Department of Applied Physics, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He has authored around 400 papers for journals, conferences, and collaborative volumes. His current research interests include numerical methods in solving electromagnetic problems and antenna array pattern synthesis. He received the Outstanding Ph.D. Award from the Physics Faculty, University of Santiago de Compostela, in 1994, and the Teaching Innovation Prize from the University of Santiago de Compostela, in 2006. He was also the President of the Spanish Committee of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI), from 2011 to 2017. He was an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ANTENNAS AND PROPAGATION, from 2016 to 2019.
